PSYGNOSIS Tribute Album "STRIX MEMORIA" now available on PRE-ORDER until 31st January 2013...

Pre-Order Strix Memoria Now  Strix Memoria Facebook Page

OK, now this REALLY is something VERY special in all manner or ways! Not only is this Tim's first ever physical album release, it commemorates his time at Psygnosis, salutes all the people who worked at Psygnosis (Sony Liverpool Development) which was sadly closed down last year and does all this in a very SEXY package! Strix Memoria comes on a (re-usable) 4Gb USB Memory Stick that has been custome designed in the shape of the famous Psygnosis Owl Head. The Stick is supplied in a laser etched steel tin which is lovingly padded and sports an 8 page circular fan-fold brochure. Each tin is INDIVIDUALLY NUMBERED, so it's quite the collectors item! You can pre-order it here.

Tim says, "The release of this album is made much more poignant to me now, with the closure of development at Sony Liverpool earlier this year. Many of the staff who were made redundant were people I had the pleasure of working with back in the early days of Psygnosis. This album is dedicated to all the talented, hard working people who did more than just 'work on games' - they gave from the heart to produce amazingly playable and highly memorable games.

This album has been a joy to compose! Going back through my archives, to pre-select over seventy potential remix candidates, and then having the public vote on their favourites was great fun. But actually sitting down and listening to the tracks so many years later, and then deciding on a new treatment for each one was utterly enjoyable. The hardest part with any piece of music is creating the melodies... once that's done you can have fun mixing it to please yourself, and hopefully others. In this instance I was starting from a point where I already had some great melodies to play with, so it really was a pleasure, and I hope people enjoy listening to the end result.

The idea to package the album onto a custom USB in the shape of the Psygnosis Owl Logo was something that came out of a desire to really do justice to the memories of my time at Psygnosis. I've released my albums digitally up until now, and I thought this album was the right one to release on a physical medium. I did consider releasing a CD, but that really wasn't special enough for a brand that has been and still is such a massive part of my life
".

There is a dedicated Facebook page here too!

SLIPSTREAM [ Volume Two ] - get it while it's hot!

Well, you didn't have to wait too long... here is the second album in the SLIPSTREAM series, and it's quite a tidy package with 13 tracks and 5 BONUS TRACKS from other games Tim has worked on in the past. SLIPSTREAM [ Volume Two ] features some of the lesser known but still highly 'flyable' (yes, that is a real word - honest!) tracks from the PC version of WipEout 2097/XL.

One slight quirk with this album is that Tim uploaded a slightly different version of KinKong by mistake. Why by mistake? Well, KinKong already appears on Volume One, but as Tim says, "Hang on! 'KinKong' was on SLIPSTREAM VOLUME ONE..." you might say, and you'd be 100% correct. However, please don't think I've pulled a 'fast one'... The mixes ARE slightly different BUT this mix should never have appeared on Volume Two... it was uploaded in error by yours truly. So, rest assured - you've not paid for the same thing twice - consider it a bonus as you now have two mixes to choose from(!) ;o)". So, another bonus mix really... enjoy!

CoLD SToRAGE re-masters ALL his WipEout music - SLIPSTREAM [ Volume One ] launches today!

As Tim puts it "...after 15 years of positive 'nagging' I finally decided enough was enough and I unearthed all the original WipEout music files, and set about re-mixing and re-mastering them to sound the best they possibly ever could!". True to his word, Tim has painstakingly re-worked each song, and the first 12 tracks have been released under the name SLIPSTREAM [ Volume One ] which can be downloaded here.

Tim continues, "I took each track in isolation, did noise reduction, multi-band E.Q., tube warmth enhancements, spatial processing and finally some really punchy compression and multi-band maximisation with dithering... all in 64bit. Where necessary I re-worked certain sections of some songs, including fade-ins and fade-outs. When I'd finished I listened back to all the tracks and althought they're essentially the same songs that featured on the WipEout games, the level of depth and the clarity you can hear now is quite staggering - I'm really chuffed with the end results!". Don't take Tim's word for it - try listening to the original tracks from the game CD and compare them to these new masters... there's just no comparison! SLIPSTREAM [ Volume Two ] should be out next month with another raft of carefully re-mastered tracks from CoLD SToRAGE himself.

CoLD SToRAGE releases "CANADA two zero four eight" E.P. in celebration of WipEout 2048 on PS Vita...

The highly anticipated first single ( E.P. actually! ) from CoLD SToRAGE's forthcoming WipEout inspired album hits the 'net today. CANADA two zero four eight is a re-envisioning of the track CANADA that first saw the light of day on WipEout 2097 or WipEout XL if you were in the United States. Tim tells us that he had to re-develop the track from scratch as he no longer has any of the original samples or sounds, nor the equipment that made the sounds for these classic 90's tracks. He literally grinned as he recounted what terrific fun it was re-discovering the melodies, basslines and rhythms and then giving them a new 2012 twist. Tim tells us that the new album is well underway and it should be ready before March turns to April. We look forward to telling you more as and when we find out! You can download the E.P. by clicking on the images above, or just click here.

Well overdue update !

Today we realised that it's been more than 4 months since we've posted anything new on the good ol' CoLD SToRAGE website. What with Tim posting on Twitter and Facebook we've tended to concentrate more on organising things in the background. Well, apologies all 'round! Here's a brief summary of what's been happening in the World of CoLD SToRAGE since the release of Evolution - Dirty War back in late 2011.

. There was a nice article on Colony Wars.
. Tim supplied the music to an iOS game for Halloween.
. Tim was interviewed by GAMIKA.
. The track "Orchasm 8" was used in a RedBull animation competition.
. Tim played his 3rd Live gig in over 20 years in London and did an on stage Q&A.
. Close recording buddies Orange Goes Pop! released their debut singles and had accolades from Erasure's Vince Clarke and Heaven 17!
. Tim played his 4th Live gig of 2011 in Manchester.
. We had a crazy Christmas SALE where ALL Tim's music was 15p per single and 40p per EP/Album/Double A Side which proved really popular!

The official music track list was released for WipEout 2048. Sadly there was no CoLD SToRAGE mentioned, BUT Tim is beavering away on an unofficial companion album ( much like he did for WipEout HD ) and this should hopefully be available at the same time the game is released on PS Vita in Europe which is currently 22nd February 2012. The working title of this album is CoLD SToRAGE 2048, but this may well change to something else... we'll let you know in good time!

...and that sums up most of what happened since we last updated this page.

CoLD SToRAGE NEW SINGLE RELEASED Today!

Today sees the Release of "Evolution ( Dirty War )" on Bandcamp. Tim tells us that he started out developing a new Dub Step track, but at some point he got pulled in another direction and so this new piece was born. We think the artwork really suits the track and it's clearly dying for a video too... hopefully one will be forthcoming at some stage, along with some remixes, or at least that's what we're badgering Tim to do! Take a trip over to Bandcamp and take a listen - we'd love to know what you think. BONUS - larger artwork is available here.

CoLD SToRAGE second live gig at Sunrise 2011, Luton... and a competition placing.

Sunrise Demo Party 2011

Tim played live in front of a slightly larger audience this weekend. He was cordially invited to play a live set at the Sunrise 2011 Demo Party in Luton, England on September 10th from 6pm onwards. His almost 50 minute session was recorded on video and also broadcast live by SceneSat Internet Radio. As well as the tracks from his Chipfest gig, Tim regaled the attendees with a couple of surprise tracks, one a prematurely aborted version of Michael Jackson's Thriller ( the laptop decided not to play ball! ) and a track from his album Project Moonbounce 2009 which thankfully went off without a hitch. Tim really enjoyed himself in terms of the performance and the event itself, where he entered the Freestyle Music Competition and came joint third through a hastily crafted track he penned a few days before the event. SceneSat's Ziphoid also conducted an interview with Tim after his performance, so do go check it out... for audio archive recordings of Tim's set, interview and much of the Sunrise event itself please take a trip to SceneSat and select Sunrise 2011 weekend part 2. For Video you can browse YouTube, or check out the CoLDSToRAGEVideo "Live Performance" PlayList which we will keep up-to-date with all the live CoLD SToRAGE videos we can find. Tim's next gig will hopefully be in London in December 2011, and then there a talks of European dates too, but we'll just have to wait and see!

CoLD SToRAGE first live performance EVER!

This is a rather special announcement... Tim has finally been convinced to play live tomorrow night in Liverpool, UK! Those of you who are in the Facebook Group or have befriended Tim on Facebook will probably already know that he will be performing some of his most well know tracks from the past 15 years at "Chipfest 6". Tim says, "This is the first time I've performed live as CoLD SToRAGE to a paying audience. How did it come about? Well, someone caught me at a weak moment, and I said yes, LOL! Actually I'm really looking forward to it now I've got my setlist sorted out. Hopefully I can live up to expectation on the night... but go easy on me as this will be baptism by fire! The last time I was on stage, straight leather ties were all the rage and I was wielding a Casio CZ101 with a neck strap! Hope to see you there if you can make it... ". You can find out more about Chipfest 6 by clicking here or on the image above.

AMIGA Revisited 2011 Launches Today!

As promised some time ago, Tim has finally found time to collate the tracks that originally featured on the AMIGA Immortal 2 & 3 CD only albums. This should please those people who either couldn't get hold of the CD at the time, or were holding out for digital download versions for their collection. Tim says, "I've tweaked the tracks a little here and there, and in one case re-mixed without vocals. It's a short affair with 5 tracks in total, but over 30 minutes in listening time... I hope you enjoy!". You can download this new compilation from bandcamp by clicking here or on the image above.

News Round Up...

We thought it was time we did a quick round-up of CoLD SToRAGE style events over the past couple of months!

Firstly there have been a couple of extra interviews which we'll post information about as soon as we have it. Then there's been a bit of spontaneous musical activity in the form of cover versions here http://soundcloud.com/oldest-cargo. There's also an A-side / B-side single entitled Escape from Barkhaven released here http://coldstorage.bandcamp.com/album/escape-from-barkhaven-single-a-b-side . We also may have found a cheap yet high quality supplier of CoLD SToRAGE mugs, so the chances are much better of providing a sensibly priced solution there! We should have them available to buy in the near future. Work is still going ahead on the Psygnosis 25 Album and Tim tells us he's aiming for a late summer release with that one... more detail in terms of how it will be packaged will be revealed soon.

YouTube CoLD SToRAGE / Tim Wright views exceeds 1.7 Million!

It came as a big surprise to us here at CoLD SToRAGE H.Q. when we were shown a spreadsheet totaling the bulk of YouTube views for videos featuring Tim's music... either as Tim Wright or CoLD SToRAGE. Not only were there game clips which you'd expect, but there were cover versions, music used to add drama to home made videos and remixes or mash-ups where people had created videos of games but replaced the music with some thumping CoLD SToRAGE. The real surprise was that over 1.7 Million views had taken place - and still counting! If you'd like to take a look at the list you can see it by clicking here. The PDF also features links to the videos so you can check them out for yourself. Tim says, "I am gob smacked, amazed and chuffed in equal measure! I've always been rather rubbish at keeping up with YouTube and posting videos, but I see that people have taken the time to do a lot of that for me. A big thanks to all of you, and I'll try to do better in future with some video postings of my own!".

CoLD SToRAGE launches his 7th Studio Album on Sunday 20th February 2011!

We're pretty excited here at CoLD SToRAGE H.Q.! Not only is the new Album coming out this weekend, but there's going to be a prize draw for anyone who buys the album before the end of March this year. Prizes include a white CoLD SToRAGE Hoodie (you can check it out via the clothing link on this site) which Tim will happily autograph for you too. There'll also be a host of other prizes too, so it might be your lucky day if you fancy some CoLD SToRAGE goodies! The Album is quite a get-up-and-go outing... here's what Tim had to say when he was asked for a press release the other day;

"The album is pretty fast paced, more in keeping with the work I do for the Wipeout Franchise, but I’d say it’s edgier with a lot more bite…

The album was originally going to be a full O.S.T., but in the end only two tracks were needed for the game [ “Sodium 2” by Outso Ltd. for PSN Home ]. This left me with a few unfinished pieces which I’ve developed in new directions. There are also a couple of ambient tracks, and a bonus piece you only get to hear once you’ve downloaded the album – it’s a bit tongue in cheek, but good fun!

A recurring theme with my albums is to pull in talented poets to supply lyrics, and I’ve done just that on track 6. “Blueprint for Compromise” features snippet from a fantastic short poem written and read by Kimberly Keck.

I’ve also organised some giveaways to celebrate the album launch; Anyone who buys the album before the end of March 2011 will be entered into a prize draw for stuff like an autographed CoLD SToRAGE hoodie, a signed CoLD SToRAGE mug, a CoLD SToRAGE beanie hat and signed eJay titles."

Happy New Year! - RETRO GAMER Issue #85 Intervew, Sodium 2 O.S.T. and P25 news (Psygnosis 25)...

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and you've recovered from the New Year festivities? Well, 2011 is off to a BANG with some great CoLD SToRAGE news... Tim is interviewed in the January Edition of RETRO GAMER (issue #85). It's a great 6 page article with plenty of photos and Tim is also mentioned in a Lemmings article too. You can get the magazine on the newstand or you can order it online direct by clicking here. One of the photos in the article was created by Mr. SToRAGE himself, and we have it here at a larger scale for your pleasure!

In other news, Tim has completed work on a new PS3 PSN Home game called Sodium 2. The style is futuristic grunge racer, so expect some Wipeout style influence in the music there. He is also following this up with an O.S.T. from the game very soon...

As for long awaited news on P25, the project is still very much underway and we're hoping for a release sometime close to Easter or sooner if possible. This gives us plenty of time to set up a pre-ordering scheme and get the albums created - we hope you'll really like the package when we've got it all finalised. Best wishes to all of your for 2011 from the CoLD SToRAGE H.Q.!

We'll be sure to post further details as we get them!

Psygnosis 25th (Silver) Anniversary Album... tracklist finalised!

The voting closed at the end of last month, and we've summed up all your ratings. There were 1,000's of votes cast which is really encouraging! The final track listing is made up of the top 25 tracks in terms of overall score as opposed to number of votes. So if 500 people voted for a track, but only scored it as a 3/5 but 40 people voted for a track and gave it 5/5 then the latter track would win. This means that only the most favoured tracks get onto the album. OK, so without further adieu, here is the track list as per the voting page ( you can click here to go refresh your memories on these tracks if you need to! ). The PSYGNOSIS 25 Track list in order of preference as voted on by you guys; SOTB 2 Level 2 Part 3, SOTB 3 Castle, SOTB 2 Title Theme, SOTB 2 Fire, LEMMINGS Four, LEMMINGS Three, AGONY Title Theme, LEANDER World One, MICROCOSM Level 1, AWESOME Three, MAGICIANS CASTLE Forest, AQUAVENTURA Main, AWESOME Five, AWESOME One, SOTB 2 Level 3 Part 1, MAGICIANS CASTLE Title Theme, AWESOME Six, PUGGSY Unreleased Track, AQUAVENTURA Guardian, MAGICIANS CASTLE Castle Area 2, SENSIBLE SOCCER Rose Bowl, AQUAVENTURA Shaft, AWESOME Four, SENSIBLE SOCCER Credits, LEMMINGS Two.

New single out today... Yin+Yang!

In a surprise move, Tim has launched a new Double-A Side Single entitled Yin+Yang. Yang is a fast paced energised track for those moments before a night out, and Yin is a mellow contemplative song for late Sunday mornings while you read your favourite book or decide which part of the garden you're going to attack! Tim says, "It's going to be a while before my next release... I'll be working hard on Psygnosis 25 (provisional title) for a few months, so I thought I'd give people some new tracks to suit most occasions while I'm busy". You can get Yin+Yang from the CoLD SToRAGE BandCamp page here.

Psygnosis 25th (Silver) Anniversary - CoLD SToRAGE invites you to vote for your favourites!

To celebrate Psygnosis’ 25th (Silver) Anniversary in 2010, CoLD SToRAGE is showcasing his archive of over 70 computer music files from Psygnosis Games such as “Shadow of the Beast II”, “Agony”, “Lemmings” and “Awesome” and asking you to vote on which tracks should receive the 2010 remix treatment! Tim says, “Psygnosis was a massive part of my life. It’s where I began in the industry, and to honour them in their Silver Anniversary year I thought it would be a fitting tribute to remix some selected songs from my archives. All these tracks were written on a Commodore AMIGA using very little memory, and only 3 or 4 channels. It was quite a challenge back then to create full sounding music within such tiny constraints. Taking these old songs and re-working them into fully fledged orchestral or electronic tracks will be a great project. I can’t wait to see which tracks people choose!”. Click here to cast your vote.

"Tik Tak " 6 track min-album released today!

Like a bolt from nowhere, today sees the release of a surprise mini-album! Not only is this the first anyone has heard of this new recording, it's also a new experiment in terms of album pricing. Tim has more for you, "Working on Gravity Crash was a great blast from the past, playing around with retro sounds and trying to hit a middle ground between old 80's production and making the music sound like it was done only yesterday too. However, I'm starting a new game project that needs me to be very much 'in the now', but I still had some retro vibe in my head. I decided to take a virtual drive through time from 1984 to 2010 via the late 90's. I had some tracks in the archives that were written using eJay Virtual Music Studio, one of my pet projects from a couple of years back, so I dusted them down, gave them some well deserved TLC and they became TikTak. Why TikTak? Well, I wanted a name for the album that had the word Techno in it. I played around with loads of names, but in the end this one came to mind and suits it well. I've since discovered that there was a Finnish girl band called Tiktak, but they disbanded a few years back, so hopefully they won't mind me using their name! In terms of pricing, I thought I'd let the fans decided what the album is worth. If you think £1.00 is enough, that's fine... if you think I deserve a pint down the pub for my efforts, then feel free to add a few more pennies on top! I really hope you enjoy it... "

Tellurian Defence Soundtrack re-discovered!

Whilst doing some nostalgic file digging Tim came across a copy of "Tellurian Defence", a game released on PC by Psygnosis back in 1998. This game is unique in CoLD SToRAGE history as it is the last music that Tim composed "in house" while at Psygnosis (SCEE Liverpool). In fact he left to form Jester Interactive Ltd. to develop the MUSICtm products part way through the project, and so was hired as a freelancer to complete his work on the game for his first 2 weeks at Jester. These in-game tracks have been re-mastered and uploaded for your listening pleasure in the ARCHIVES section of this website (scroll down the page). Tim says, "The tracks were written to accompany the in-game flight action, and as such were supposed to be a bit more 'wallpaper' than catchy tunes. But in some cases I couldn't resist getting a bit meoldic. I've not heard these tunes in an age, and didn't really have much time back then to listen to them either, so it's been interesting to re-master them and get to know them again!"

"Gravity Crash Anthems" Album is released today!

If you've been following progress on the CoLD SToRAGE Twitter or Facebook pages you'll know that Tim has been beavering away on his 5th Studio Album for some time now. Well, all the hard work has paid off and you can now download Gravity_Crash_Anthems from the CoLD SToRAGE BandCamp page ( click here or on the BandCamp logo above to go take a listen ). Full of juicy 80's influenced electro style synth sounds, Anthems takes the music from the stunning Gravity Crash game but with extended remixes of all the tracks along with some never before heard mixes in styles ranging from laid back drum'n'bass to Commodore 64 SID Chip. There's even a C90 cassette mix too for that genuine 80's vibe! Tim says, "I really loved working on Gravity Crash - it was great fun to be creating music that was firmly planted in the early 80's but with a twist of 21st century. I can't believe this is my fifth studio album... where does all the time go!? I hope everyone finds something on the album they'll enjoy! If you've not played Gravity_Crash yet it's really worth a look, especially if you hanker after some old skool gaming action. I'm really looking forward to the PSP version this month!"

1 January 2010

Here at CoLD SToRAGE H.Q. we are proud to greet you in this new year and brand new decade. We are looking forward to so much in 2010, but it's fitting that we let CoLD SToRAGE himself usher in 2010 with a few words;

"It's hard to believe that we are entering a new decade already, but sure enough... here we are in 2010! So many great things have happened to me in the 'noughties'. The creation of the MUSICtm and MTV Music Generator products at Jester Interactive, and then moving on to develop a raft of eJay products. Getting back on board with Sony and writing music of the Wipeout series, and finally launching my debut album MELT. Following this up with Android Child, CoLD SToRAGE HD and Project Moonbounce 2009. The explosion in social networking and internet media brought us myspace, facebook, twitter and music portals such as thesixtyone and bandcamp which have really let me reach more people and interact with people who enjoy what I do.

2009 was really eventful - you only have to scroll down this page to see how much went on(!) I attended Video Games Live in Cardiff and met up with some lovely people at the meet & greet sessions - you know who you are, and it was lovely to see you all! I also ran a competition with some long time MUSICtm fans on the TIMGUL website which I really enjoyed. There were some minor downs in 2009, but on the whole, all things taken into consideration it wasn't such a bad year after all.

What have I got planned for 2010? Well, I'm releasing my new album "Gravity Crash Anthems" this month, which contains extended album versions of the music from the Sony PS3/PSP game "Gravity Crash" along with special mixes and ambient versions, so look out for that soon! I'll also be releasing details of how you can FINALLY get hold of rather cool (pun intended) CoLD SToRAGE clothing, all of which has been road & washing machine tested by my family to make sure they are good quality! I have some MAD plans for music based projects in 2010, but we'll have to see if they come off. Doing the moonbounce project has inspired me to realise that if I put my mind to something I can make it happen, so we'll see how things pan out. Aside from this, I'll be pushing hard to do more music this year, in as many areas as possible... again, we'll have to see if the stars shine down favourably on me for this! Lastly I have to give a big thanks to EVERYONE who listens to my ramblings on Twitter, joined my facebook page and most of all download my music. Without you it's pointless! I do enjoy writing music, but when just one extra person listens and enjoys it makes the whole thing 1,000 times more worthwhile. I hope 2010 brings you all you need and some of what you'd like too... Take it easy, Tim aka. CoLD SToRAGE" .

Gravity Crash Virtual Vinyl Single - 18th Sept 2009...

In anticipation of the imminent release of Gravity_Crash ( a great new 'retro evolved' blast-em-up from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe on PSP/PS3 ) we have had the green light from Sony and Just Add Water (Developments) Ltd. to release a couple of tracks from the game. To celebrate the launch of this 80's retro influenced shooter, we are staying firmly in that era and releasing two tracks in the form of a Virtual Vinyl Single, as you can probably tell from the artwork above ( just click the images for bigger versions ). The two tracks are SCARFACE X-TEND Mix and CLIFF DIVER BIG LEAP Mix. These two tracks are remixed versions of the in-game tracks, and are exclusive to us here at the CoLD SToRAGE website! Friday 18th September will see the single launched from the CoLD SToRAGE Bandcamp page... just click here or click the bandcamp or music options in the menu. The download package comes complete with hi-res (1280px) front, back and A-side vinyl artwork. We hope you enjoy the new tracks!

GRAVITY CRASH Soundtrack complete... initial responses very good!

Well, it was a tense moment here again at CoLD SToRAGE H.Q. Having recently completed Project_Moonbounce_2009, work resumed on the soundtrack and sound effects for the forthcoming Sony Computer Entertainment Game GRAVITY_CRASH developed by Just Add Water (Developments) Limited. Tim was his usual nervous self after submission, but thankfully the response has been great! Check out the news as it happens on the JAW website here, and hopefully you'll be hearing some snippets of each track soon.

CoLD SToRAGE gets older...

Tim would like to say, ."...a big thanks for all your kind Birthday messages received on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and through good old traditional snail mail. Really nice of you all to send your greetings, messages and amusing anecdotes!".

23 July 2009
A great big THANK YOU!

A quick message from CoLD SToRAGE, "I just had to make mention here that I'm overwhelmed with the feedback on Project Moonbounce 2009! The comments have been far more than I could have hoped for... everyone so far (hopefully I won't jinx things by saying this) has loved the album. Some have said it's my best work yet, which quite frankly is just great news! When I was writing the album I didn't know which direction it would go in, and I had a lot of ideas that didn't really seem to belong together at the time. But after I'd written all the tracks and mastered them, they seemed to find their own play order on the album, and now it really does feel like one cohesive entity. Many thanks to you all, and to anyone who hasn't heard it yet, I hope you enjoy it too!"

"PROJECT MOONBOUNCE 2009" is nearly here! Impatient? You can download a sampler right now...

All the planning, writing and mixing is finally over, and PROJECT MOONBOUNCE 2009 is finally complete! The launch date is only a few days away now... But in the meantime, you can download a taster by going to the CoLD SToRAGE MySpace page here, or using this link here for a higher quality MP3. CoLD SToRAGE says, " The montage does give a flavour, but I've held back on a lot of the ‘goodies' so you're only getting a small taste of what's to come from the sampler MP3. There are 16 tracks in total on the final album, so there's plenty of variety and over an hours worth of music. I'm particularly proud of the fact that I've taken a slightly different direction for this album. I wanted a unqiue sounding record for a very unique event. Creatively adventurous? Maybe, but hopefully people will want to listen… I'm hoping they'll be up for something new!"

CoLD SToRAGE proudly presents... "PROJECT MOONBOUNCE 2009"

2009 will see CoLD SToRAGE literally reach into space! Currently in the planning stages, PROJECT MOONBOUNCE is an ambitious concept to literally bounce music off the moon and then re-integrate it 'live' into a musical recording. A melodic section of a specially composed musical track will be passed into a powerful radio transmitter and directed at the moon. The returning signal will take approximately 3 seconds to return, and this will be re-incorporated into the music. CoLD SToRAGE says, "This project brings together my love of music and astronomy. I'm also a fully licenced radio amateur, so I've been aware of EME ( Earth-Moon-Earth ) principals for some time... but it only came to me as an idea to marry up the two very recently. It's going to take a fair bit of organisation and planning, but I'm really excited by the whole project and can't wait to hear the end results!", more news as it happens...

CoLD SToRAGE HD launches 14th October 2008

Good news!

The CoLD SToRAGE HD mini-album will be available to buy from here on Tuesday 14th October, and will comprise of 6 brand new tracks! One of these tracks is quite special... it was originally intended to feature on the first ever Wipeout game in 1995. Thought to have been lost to the mists of time due to an Amiga floppy drive failure, this track was recently found on an old ZIP disc backup drive after preparations for a house move. After a week or two of loving restoration you can now hear this track along with 5 other long play mixes on the new album. We hope you enjoy listening!

CoLD SToRAGE HD Album

It seems we've been caught by surprise here at CoLD SToRAGE HQ! Release dates for Wipeout HD were always speculation until recently, however it's been confirmed that it will be released in America and the UK tomorrow. The date we were working to here in terms of getting 'CoLD SToRAGE HD' released was mid October, so we have some catching up to do! But never fear, work will be stepped up on the forthcoming album so you shouldn't have to wait too long for some more CoLD SToRAGE tracks. As soon as we have a release date we'll let you all know! We hope you enjoy playing the game in the meantime...

CoLD SToRAGE Forum will now be on FaceBook!

After some deliberation, it has been decided to not host a forum on the website. We have had several issues over the years, with abusive postings, hacker hijackings and so on. Therefore we have decided to use the well known FaceBook application to allow people to post all their comments, videos and so on. Please click HERE to go to the newly created CoLD SToRAGE FaceBook group. Hope to see you there!

CoLD SToRAGE remixes TDK

Tim is a big fan of one Mark Knight aka. TDK. He was very taken with one of his tracks in particular ( you can hear it by clicking here ). Tim decided to give the track a Dance treatment which you can listen to by clicking here or just go to the FREE MUSIC link at the top of the page. Feel free to send us your thoughts! Just send an e-mail to 'talk' at our website URL.

CoLD SToRAGE interviewed on OCReMix...

Some weeks back OCReMix contacted Tim to see if he would be happy to kick off their interview section with an in-depth and lengthy article. Happy to oblige, Tim sat down and typed his way through umpteen questions about music, games, life, the universe and almost everything! if you'd like to read the interview then take a trip to OCReMix.

The CoLD SToRAGE HD album is coming along well, and should be complete in the next couple of weeks... we'll keep you posted!

6 April 2008
Colony Wars now available from FREE MUSIC section!

Tim has finally had time to re-master the Colony Wars tracks for hosting on the CoLD SToRAGE website. These files were kindly sent in from a dedicated fan who took the time to rip all the tunes from the actual game, as the masters for these tracks had long since disappeared in an office move at Psygnosis (SCEE Liverpool). Many thanks for doing this... and sorry it took so long to sort it out! For the tech-heads amongst you, these files were stored on the PlayStation disc at 37kHz and in a compressed format, so Tim has had to do some re-sampling, E.Q. and other bits of TLC to get these tracks as close as possible to 44.1kHz original CD quality. For those of you who have waited patiently for these tracks we hope they bring back some great memories of playing Colony Wars!

4 April 2008
Website corrections & merchandise news...

A big thank you to everyone who has bought the new album! We hope you're enjoying listening to the new tracks and welcome feedback... Also a big thank you to people who have spotted some dead links on our FREE MUSIC page - we have corrected these now, so there should be no more problems downloading.

In other news we are hoping to have some Android Child Shirts available very soon from the BUY STUFF link above. These will be strictly limited edition and individually numbered - so get them while you can! As soon as they are available we'll make an announcement here...

24 March 2008
Website makeover and Android Child released!

Firstly the CoLD SToRAGE website has had a much needed tidy-up. Now everything should be easier to navigate and we've opted for a nice, simply layout. If you need to have a one-on-one with CoLD SToRAGE simply send an e-mail to the address at the top of this page... he will read every e-mail and will attempt to reply to every one as time permits.

OK, more importantly Android Child is now available from this site! For the past few months we've been in discussion with various CD pressing companies and none of them filled us with joy and excitement. So, until we can find one that fits us we are going to offer it for sale as a digital download in the same way as MELT. If you'd like to get your hands on the album, simply click on "BUY STUFF " in the menu or just CLICK HERE. We hope you enjoy Android Child!

29 January 2008
The RETRO Vibe continues!

After having had loads of fun with the SK-1 at the start of the year, CoLD SToRAGE brings you a small tribute to the Commodore C64 and more importantly the 6581 / 8580 SID Chip. The following tune has never actually been anywhere near a SID chip, it was all composed using REASON 3 using the built-in synths along with one sample from the SK-1.

However in the spirit of things the style is all C64 retro! CLICK HERE

16 January 2008
Happy New Year...

2008 is in full swing, so what about CoLD SToRAGE? Yes, work is still progresses on pressing Android Child. The original company ear-marked for publication has proven unreliable, so we're reconsidering our options. In the meantime, here's a small piece that happened through sheer chance. Mrs. SToRAGE was in a local Charity Shop and she spotted a little Casio keyboard hiding in the corner labeled£3.00. She took it home and it turned out to be an SK1.

After a couple of hours of amusing fun, C.S. sampled all it's sounds and put together this track... Click HERE to listen. C.S. says, "I had great fun putting this little song together. I may well expand on this at some later stage. Not my usual style, but a kind of Electro Jazz. Making cheesy electro music with these sounds is quite easy and a load of fun!" Here's hoping 2008 brings you everything you need and some of what you want... :O)
